Western Sydney International Airport
The new Western Sydney Airport is a major infrastructure project currently under construction in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. It is located near the suburb of Badgerys Creek and is expected to be operational in 2026.
The airport is being built on a 1,780-hectare site and will feature a single runway, a terminal building, cargo facilities, and associated infrastructure. The terminal building, which we are working on now, will have the capacity to handle up to 10 million passengers per year initially, with the potential to expand to accommodate up to 82 million passengers per year by 2063. It will include a range of facilities for passengers, including shops, restaurants, and lounges.
We are one of the 26 BIM managers of this iconic project from the early design phase. Having the intent of taking the BIM to its full potential, we’ve been managing a massive amount of equipment data behind the scene. All these data will be handed over to Western Sydney Airport Corporation at the end of the project for the maintenance of the airport and future developments.
